When the 2018 Mustang order guide went live back in July of this year, it gave potential owners the chance to finally work through all available options for the build and price of the 2018 EcoBoost, Mustang GT, and Shelby GT350 configurations. All of the configurations except one — the 2018 Mustang Performance Package Level 2.

This week Ford updated the 2018 Mustang Order Guide (see highlights below), and it now indicates that Job 2 production is currently scheduled for December 4, 2017. Once Job 2 productions begin, customers will be able to order and build their new Mustangs with the once mysterious Performance Package Level 2.

2018 Mustang Tremor Package

• 19×9.5-inch aluminum wheels (front)

• 19×10-inch aluminum wheels (rear)

• 3.73:1 axle ratio

• Torsen limited-slip differential

• Six-speed manual transmission

• Aluminum instrument panel inserts

• Platinum performance front bumper

• High-series Police brakes

• Larger radiator

• MagneRide damping system

• Oil-pressure and boost gauge package

• Rear performance plus spoiler

• Tire repair kit

According to a source on a popular sixth-gen Mustang forum, the Performance Package Level 2 is named the Tremor Package. Priced at $6,500, the PP2 package will include MagneRide damping, 3.73 gearing, and will only be available with a six-speed manual transmission.

The Tremor Package also features unique 19-inch wheels, high-series police brakes, and performance plus rear spoiler. Which explains order code 673, which includes a staggered — 19×9.5-inch front and 19×10-inch rear — wheel package.

The new order guide shows that the new Tremor Package is available with both the 301A and 401A equipment group.

So what are your thoughts on this optional package? Is it worth the $6,500 price tag? And, why is the 10-speed automatic transmission not an option? Until Ford releases more information on exactly what the new package will look like, you just might have to wait for our answer on this one…
