Ford Releases Renderings of Custom SEMA Sport Utility Vehicles

Last week, we brought you news of the special edition Rangers that will grace the stage at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas in a few short weeks. This time, we’re bringing you the 2020 Ford Escape and Explorer, and 2019 Expedition builds that will debut at SEMA.

Each of these SUVs have been built exclusively for the show and have been customized by Ford’s partners to show off the biggest trends currently on the market.

“There’s a growing hunger for consumers to personalize their SUVs, which have a huge range of possibilities from lowered street rides to off-road overlanding,” said Eric Cin, global director, Ford vehicle personalization and accessories. “As the latest versions of Escape and Explorer continue to provide buyers with even more options for what they want, the aftermarket is a great place to see just how much more there is out there.”

Ford will have more than 50 vehicles on display at the SEMA Show, giving it the largest OE manufacturer footprint. The interactive Ford Out Front display will be in operation again this year, open to SEMA attendees and the public alike, with several Ford vehicles available for ride-alongs on a closed course.

LGE-CTS Motorsports Urban Ford Escape

Following the trend we saw with the Ford Rangers, this Escape is ready for adventure. Designed by LGE-CTS Motorsports, the Escape features Eibach performance lowering springs along with 20-inch TSW Petrol P6A wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Advantage T/A Sport rubber.

A custom Borla cat-back exhaust gives the Escape a mean growl, and the Escape has also been equipped with a Power Commander throttle control system.

The exterior has been upgraded with roof rack crossbars from Ford Accessories as well as Yakima mounts. On the inside, custom leather from Rogelio’s Auto Upholstery is paired with Scosche audio upgrades.

Air Design USA Ford Escape Sport Hybrid

Sherwin-Williams paint was chosen to finish the Air Design USA Escape Sport Hybrid in a two-tone white and black paint job. It was flawlessly applied by Faith Quality Auto Body, and matches custom 20-inch Forgiato Flow 011 wheels wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Verde tires. The team chose Air Design fender flames with door rocker moldings and silver skid plates to finish out the exterior modification list.

Inside, a Ford Accessories cargo organizer resides with a cargo mat and floor liners, as well as a Indel B portable refrigerator for those long trips and adventures.

MAD Industries Ford Escape

MAD Industries’ take on the Ford Escape includes plenty of accouchements for hauling sporting gear! But first, the good stuff. This Escape is lowered with Eibach Pro Kit lowering springs and rides on 21-inch Rotiform ORZ wheels paired to Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires. It’s finished in a custom BASF RM paint, and is topped with Ford Accessories roof rack crossbars and a Yakima bike carrier.

Inside, a Miko ultra-suede headliner has been installed along with custom matte gray trim and a Rockford Fosgate audio system.

Blood Type Racing Ford Explorer Limited Hybrid

Blood Type Racing built a Ford Explorer Limited Hybrid to take its occupants from the jungle to the concrete jungle – sustainably.

It has been equipped with a half-inch suspension leveling kit, Ford Performance skid plate, and 20-inch Ace Alloy AFF09 black chrome wheels with Toyo Tires Open Country A/T tires. It roars through a Borla cat-back exhaust with black chrome tips. Lacks Trim Systems front grille and rear bumper accents coincide with door handle accents and lower door moldings.

A Yakima carrier mounted to Ford Accessories roof race crossbars showcases two custom BTR Edition snowboards by Blank Snowboards. Inside, a Ford Accessories Ford Play rear seat entertainment system by Voxx keeps occupants entertained en route to adventure.

CGS Performance Products Ford Explorer ST

CGS Performance Products customized a 2020 Explorer ST, starting with a custom Borla cat-back exhaust with carbon fiber tips. The team decided on 24-inch Savini wheels with Pirelli P-Zero rubber, along with a gray paint job by Sikkens, paired to red accents along the roofline and side skirts.

The Inside of the Explorer is graced by a custom interior by Alea Leather.

Prefix Ford Explorer

Prefix designed this Explorer as a tribute to the men and women who work in racetrack support vehicles to ensure safety on scene. It’s as striking as it is functional, with lowered suspension, Ford Performance skid plate, and 20-inch GWG wheels with Michelin tires.

It has been equipped with a Whelen emergency siren/signal system, Ford Performance recovery kit, and Ford Accessories first-aid and roadside assistance kit by DC Safety. Inside, Recaro Cross Sportster ORV race seats keep passengers comfortable and safe.

This Explorer will see parade and pace car duties throughout the 2020 Trans Am race season.

Good Boy Daisy LifeStyle Ford Expedition Limited MAX

The Good Boy Daisy LifeStyle 2019 Ford Expedition Limited MAX makes for one hell of a show. It has been equipped with the ability to livestream in-car musical performances from all over the United States.

Under-hood, a Whipple EcoBoost Stage 1 induction kit has been installed, and the EcoBoost roars through a Borla touring exhaust. A flush bumper-mounted Rigid lightbar lights the way for the custom-painted Expedition rolling on 24-inch Forgiato wheels.

The interior is this Expedition’s focus, and the stunning Nappa leather interior from Alea Leather screams luxury. It has been outfitted with Zoom Q8 cameras, Sennheiser microphones and a QSC TouchMix 8 digital mixer with the ability to record and share with the world. This Expedition is perfect for bands on the go!

MAD Industries Ford Expedition Stealth

MAD Industries also go its hands on a 2019 Expedition for the SEMA show, and decided on a Whipple EcoBoost air induction system, as well as an Icon Dynamics Stage 2 coilover suspension for on- and off-road adventuring.

It rides on 22-inch Fuel Forged FF-45 monoblock wheels paired to Nitto Ridge Grappler tires, and comes to a halt with PowerStop Z36 high performance rotors and ceramic formula extreme brake pads.

Outside, a Rigid Adapt 50-inch lightbar and SR-L series spreader white halos provide night vision, and a Yakima SkyRise rooftop tent keeps campers off the ground.

These custom builds prove that SUVs aren’t just for soccer moms, and we can’t wait to check them out at the show! Which SEMA edition Ford SUV is your favorite? Tell us in the comments!
