This is a big week in the auto industry as executives and booth babes ramp up for dozens of high-profile reveals at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show. Among these many reveals is the refreshed look for the 2013 Mustang. Ford already let slip that the 2013 Mustang would be revealed at a party in downtown L.A. Tuesday night, and Ford has gone one step further with not one, but two teaser shots four photos to tempt the Ford faithful.
What do these four shots reveal? Well not much, other than the headlamps and taillights…but let’s over-analyze them anyways.
Ford has a clever little App that is slowly revealing a batch of four pictures, based on how many people share a special Mustang badge on their Facebook walls. So far two of the four images have been revealed, and both are (unfortunately) headlight shots. The first image is almost definitely from a BOSS Mustang model, as it lacks headlights at all, though some reports suggest that the Mustang’s fog lamps have moved to the lower front bumper area.
The next shot is probably from a more “pedestrian” GT or V6 model, and reveals for certain one upgrade to the 2013 Mustang; LED headlights. Sources report that the 2013 Mustang refresh will take the more-aggressive grille from its GT500 counterpart, and LED headlights are part of the refresh. The next teaser shot shows off the redesigned taillights, which should address some concerns regarding the Mustang’s modern booty. And what about the gauge cluster? Well that got a revamp as well, looking to be more modern and with even more readouts available than previously, along with gauge and race functions we had reported.
In other words, there is a lot to look forward to on the 2013 Mustang, and we can’t wait to bring you the first pics tomorrow night.
