Like every other automaker selling cars in America (and even some that don’t), Ford is ramping up a big display for the 2013 SEMA Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The Blue Oval has already rolled out the red carpet for a trio of sexy Mustang concepts, though that is far from the only tuned rides sporting Ford badges that will be on hand. Ford’s massive Dreamcase display of tuned cars will also include custom takes of its smallest car, the tiny Ford Fiesta. The Blue Oval borrowed talented designers and engineers from across the aftermarket to give this little car a lot of stage presence this year.
Four of the five custom Fiestas are the Fiesta ST . 3d Carbon (top) opted for a different approach. Rather than focus on the Fiesta’s output and street cred, 3d Carbon gave the Fiesta a distinctly European flavor with a custom body kit, 19-inch Forgiato Pizzete-M wheels, and a two-tone leather interior that matches the exterior.
Ice Nine Group, meanwhile, went in the total opposite direction with their Fiesta ST, creating a rally-ready model that includes lots of carbon fiber. This includes a carbon fiber hood and rear wing, as well as the addition of numerous ducts to direct airflow where it is needed.
MRT did some actual performance upgrades to their green Forza 5-inspired Fiesta ST. This includes a COBB Tuning induction system and cooling system that goes hand-in-hand with the Eco-Flow stainless steel exhaust system. This Fiesta was built to bridge the gap between gaming and car enthusiasts, and does the job nicely.
Rather than focus only on straight-line performance, Bojix Design injected something suspension improvements into their Fiesta ST. In addition to a new cat-back exhaust and methanol injection system, Bojix modified the suspension, including new coil overs slamming the Fiesta closer to the ground than it was ever intended to be.
Last but not least is the Fiesta ST built by COBB Tuning with input from Fiesta RallyCross champion Tanner Foust designed to champion America’s armed forces. The COBB/Foust Fiesta hopes to draw more attention to the Pat Tillman Foundation, and this custom digital camouflage Fiesta will tour military bases around America after its SEMA debut.
And that’s just a taste of what’s to come from Ford. We can’t wait to see what else the Blue Oval brings to SEMA 2013.
