Ford India reported 83 per cent growth in the cars sold to 5,929 units during March 2006, compared to the same month last year. Seemingly atypical Ford vehicles like the Ford Fiesta, shown, contributed to the sale of 14,125 cars during the first quarter of the calender year 2006, compared to 7,607 cars sold during the same period the previous year.
The car maker reported a six per cent increase in the number of vehicles sold to 28,865 cars compared to 27,259 cars sold the previous year. The statement further said that the company has expanded its dealer sales and service network and has 115 dealership facilities in 79 cities across the country.
Perhaps this is the start of something interesting…Ford could be a leader in foreign markets just like Toyota and Honda are poising to become here.
