Ford has already made it clear that the next Mustang muscle car will be a “global” vehicle. That means it will be sold all over the planet, and not just here in America (with limited numbers selling in countries like Japan as well.) But not everybody wants to wait until 2014 for a Mustang, especially ze Germans, for whom there is no such thing as “fast enough.”
German tuning company Velocity will debut the Velocity Edition Mustang at the 2011 Essen Auto Show this week, and they’ve certainly made some big changes to America’s muscle car. Perhaps the most noticeable modification is the aggressive, vented hood with two huge hood scoops right over the grille. It’s a bold look, and may not suit all pallets…but it will be hard to miss this muscle car. The 22-inch Giovanna wheels, muscular body kit, and carbon fiber trunk lid round out the exterior modifications.
But that’s not all ze Germans have going on with the Velocity Mustang. Under the hood they’ve helped boost horsepower from 412 to 519 ponies, thanks to a ROUSHcharger supercharger system. The suspension, tires, and interior have all received equal levels of attention, bringing the final price to €74,999, or about $116,700. That’s one expensive Mustang, but Europeans have proven they will go to great lengths to own real American muscle…even if it was tuned by Germans.
