If you’re an NMRA fan or a Holley fan, chances are you’ve heard that the pair are colliding to bring you the Holley Intergalactic Ford Festival from September 26th to 29th in Bowling Green, Kentucky. While the NMRA All-Ford World Finals are always a sight to see, this year’s event is bound to offer enthusiasts even more power-packed fun in one weekend.
This year, instead of just drag racing, Ford Fest will include drifting, autocross, road course, and much more! Ford Muscle will be the title sponsor of the car show portion of the event, while FordNXT will sponsor the weekend’s dyno challenge. Check out the details below!
Ford Muscle Show-N-Shine
Are show cars more your speed than flying down the track? There’s a spot for you too! The Ford Muscle Show-N-Shine will be judged by an experienced panel of judges who will be looking at the fine details of each competitor’s ride. The Holley crew will also be there hand-picking their favorites.
Saturday, the NMRA will be giving out 20 special recognition awards. There will also be director awards given out in the following categories: best early Mustang, best modern Mustang, best street rod pre-’49, best late Ford ’49 and up, best Ford truck, best traditional hot rod, best race car/pro street, and a Director’s Choice (Custom Award) for one conservative build and one modified build.
Sunday will up the ante with two awards (winner and outstanding achievement) being given out in each of 23 unique classes. There will also be specialty awards for best engine, best body and paint, and best interior, as well as a best of show award. Finally, an invitation only Platinum Class will showcase a variety of cream of the crop Fords.
FordNXT Dyno Challenge
Does your ride have what it takes to be one of the most powerful at Ford Fest? Bring it on down, strap it to the rollers, and give it your best shot in the FordNXT Dyno Challenge. Any registered Ford Fest participant is eligible to throw their hat in the ring, but sign up is first-come, first-served, so make sure you get there early!
There will be awards given to first, second, and third place finishers in two different classes: power adder and non-power adder. First place winners will receive a $400 Holley product certificate, while second and third will receive $200 and $100 respectively.
As always, we’ll be there covering the action, so check back to see if you find your ride in our coverage!
