Goodguys Reveals A Sick, 425-Horsepower 1969 F100 Giveaway Truck

As a promotion for its renowned event series, the Goodguys Rod & Custom Association commissions some impressive custom vehicle builds. They aren’t just for display though. You can actually win these custom-built machines and the latest is a sweet 1969 Ford F100 pickup powered by a 425-horsepower Roush Performance 5.0 SR Coyote crate engine.

“Known as the ‘1969 GRT-100,’ it sits aggressively on a Scott’s Hot Rods & Customs chassis with a Roush Performance Ford V8 linked to a Tremec transmission,” John Drummond of Goodguys explained. “A truckload of LMC Truck products made it possible to finish off the vehicle with both style and substance.”

Designed by Eric Brockmeyer and built by Doug Gonzales and his team at Lucky 7 Speed Shop, it is the 2018/2019 Goodguys Grand Prize Giveaway Truck, which will tour the country with the event series so attendees can scope out the build.

“A mile-long list of hot rod industry contributors stepped up to donate parts and products to make one of the coolest pickups you’ll find. And you can win it!” John enthused. “The Goodguys Grand Prize Giveaway program allows event participants to qualify as finalists to win the vehicle through the ‘Sunday Lucky Ticket’ program. Goodguys also includes a randomly selected member as a finalist as well as one finalist through online contest entry system, which will be open for submissions soon.”

A 425-horsepower Roush Performance 5.0 SR Coyote crate engine powers Goodguys 1969 GRT-100.

That long list of gear includes parts from B&M Racing, Centerforce, Dakota Digital, Flaming River, Flowmaster, Hurst Performance, Moser Engineering, Optima Batteries, Quicktime, and more.

Once the online submissions open up, we’ll be sure to add the link here, but for now you can check it out at the events. The truck will be given to its lucky winner at the Goodguys PPG Nationals held in Columbus, Ohio, in July of 2019.

The 1969 GRT-100 is clean inside and out. If you are lucky enough to win this powerful pickup, you can drive away in it at next year’s Goodguys PPG Nationals in Columbus, Ohio.
