Andy Caufield may have had the first blown Boss 302 to roam the streets, but he certainly won’t be the last. Performance legend John Hennessey got his tuning hands on a new 2012 Boss 302 Laguna Seca in silver and went to work grafting more power into the track star. Hennessey unboxed a new Eaton TVS2300 blower and bolted it Roadrunner engine. The engine already has forged internals and is begging for some boost.
Like on Andy’s car, this does mean giving up the sweet Boss 302 intake and the serial number plaque. If you are OK with losing that special intake, Hennessey will put one of these blowers onto your Boss 302. The boost on the Eaton blower was set to 10psi and the car went to Hennessey’s in-house Dyno to see what the new supercharger did for the Mustang.
According to Hennessey, the car put down 563 rwhp and 475 rwtq. If you like the idea of this package, Hennessey hasn’t said what the kit will cost you just yet. The good news is that Hennessey is offering the upgrade with a 3-year/36,000 mile warranty. That means you can have your blown Boss and still have the protection of a warranty. The package is called the HPE650 upgrade and there is talk of a HPE700 package too.
