The initiative for safe tuning travels with a Ford Mustang GT in the original police outfit
An American icon for over 50 years, the Mustang is now a global phenomenon. As such, tuners around the world are modifying examples of Ford’s pony car. Turned into a police car, this eye-catching 2017 Mustang out of Germany acts as a campaign vehicle for
TUNE IT! SAFE!—a SEMA-style program in Europe that emphasizes effective and legal modifications.
“With a true style icon as a symbol for safe and correct automotive tuning on the road,” says TUNE IT! SAFE! “The initiative for safe tuning travels with a Ford Mustang GT in the original police outfit through Germany and shows at car trade fairs, tuning events, motorsport events, traffic safety days and in car dealerships that passport and security are not mutually exclusive.”

Dubbed the Wolf Wide 5.0, this 2017 GT was tuned by
Wolf Racing, which gave it an overhaul with a custom body kit, custom aluminum wheels and some high-performance Hankook tires. Handling for those high-speed pursuits is sharpened via Wolf Racing coilovers, which feature a ride height adjustment range of 10 to 35mm.
With some tuning and its own exhaust system, Wolf Racing pumped up the Coyote engine by 34 ponies
With some tuning and its own exhaust system, Wolf Racing pumped up the Coyote engine by 34 ponies to 455 horsepower, with a top speed of 166.5 mph. It now covers 0-62 mph in just 4.3 seconds. Appropriately, the Wolf Wide 5.0 retains the German-designed Getrag MT-82 six-speed manual transmission, which will give the officers more control of all that power when they need it.
Though this tuned 2017 Mustang is simply a promotional vehicle for the TUNE IT! SAFE! Campaign, we suspect the Germany police might want to add a few of these fast 5.0s to their fleet, so beware if you break the speed limit on the Autobahn.
With tuning and its own exhaust, Wolf Racing elevated the output of the Coyote 5.0 by 34 ponies. It wears custom Wolf Racing wheels with Hankook tires and Wolf coilover dampers set the stance. Helping the Wolf Wide 5.0 live up to its name is a full body kit made up of a front spoiler, front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser, and rear wing. (Photo Credit: TUNE! IT! SAFE!)
