How do you cause a pony stampede of interest? Just ask Trevor Jackson about his 1999 35th Anniversary Mustang and he will tell you not only how to stand out but how to be the star of the show. A veteran Mustang enthusiast, Jackson is now on his 9th horse. The previous owner of eight fox bodies he decided to shake things up in the barn this time.
Jackson picked up this car in 2010 set on creating a one of a kind ride. Upon acquiring his new pony he began to debate whether to wrap or paint. After some research Jackson came upon a third option. An up and coming form of automobile art, Jackson choose Chris Dunlop, of Sharpie Art. A form of art where the canvas is your ride and the marker is the paint brush. Yes a black Sharpie marker used by the skilled hand of an artist is what created the car’s unique look.
The process began to create a one of a kind Mustang masterpiece. Dunlop spent more than seventy plus hours laying down the hand drawn artwork, using his magical Sharpie marker to bring a vision to life. Creating a two-tone look, the roof, pillars, decklid, and the Kaenen 2000 Cobra R style hood received Dunlop’s Sharpie treatment. The end result is a seamless design that flows into one work of visually appealing art.
Continuing to enhance the outer appearance to compliment the sharpie design, Jackson added an ’03 Cobra front and rear bumper, along with a 03 Cobra side skirt and a Saleen one piece wing.
Moving to the engine bay to enhance street and track performance Jackson dropped in a Kenne Bell 2.1 intercooled supercharger and a JLT cold air kit. Now producing 424 hp and 487 ft-lbs of torque to the rear wheel. Upgrades to the transmission, brakes, and suspension were completed along with new wheels and tires.
A work of art from interior to exterior, Jackson has created a beast, that can deliver on or off track and still look good in the process. Personalizing his ride and bringing a vision to life through the skilled hand of the mechanical craftsmen and the hand of a gifted artist.
