Back in September, DRAGZINE shared news of former Pro Modified and Outlaw 10.5 racer Tim Lewis teaming up with Virginia-based car owner randy Van Raden for an Outlaw Drag Radial and X275 effort, with a nitrous-assisted Anthony Disomma-prepped small block Chevrolet going under the hood of 25.2 spec Fox Body Mustang.
Now with the off season in full swing and the 2011 season on the horizon, Lewis and Van Raden are working through some of their final preparations before pulling their new ride into the beams for some testing hits. With the drivetrain nestled down into place and the bodywork completed, the car will soon head off to the paint shop where it will receive the Synergy Green color found on the 2011 Camaro. Chris at Cheeks Performance recently installed new full size wheel tubs, hung the fiberglass doors, hatch, nose, and hood scoop to get the car ready for paint. Once painted, all that’ll remain will be the wiring and getting the car scaled and ready for testing.
Said Lewis “We should be ready to make our first test hits in the spring. We have the room for a bigger tire so we may very well try a few different things out along the way, but we are looking to make some waves on the 275’s and then run on the 315’s in Outlaw.”
