We often extol the virtues of keeping the high-speed shennanigans to the race track, and we’ve written far too many stories about wrecked Mustangs and ruined lives. But sometimes, an accident is just an accident, and even driving at the speed limit can be a dangerous proposition, under the right (wrong?) circumstances.Take this story, brought to us by the Berkeley Daily Planet, about a bizzare accident involving a BMW and a Mustang, the latter of which ended up on its roof.

Now normally when you hear about a car flipping over, it was usually the result of some high-speed tom foolery on the part of the driver. But in this case, it appears to have more to do with physics and bad luck than any real fault of the driver. If anything, the BMW was apparently to blame for this bizzare rollover.

According to witnesses, the BMW pulled into traffic without any indication or warning. The Mustang, travelling at about 30 mph, clipped the front left fender of the BMW. The angle and speed were just enough that the Mustang convertible drove up, on to the BMW’s fender, and flipped over. Several nearby bystanders helped wrench the driver from the flipped-over Mustang, though the pony car is most likely totalled.

All because an impatient Bimmer driver couldn’t be bothered to use their turn signals. Sigh.
