For some people, the Ford Mustang is more than just a car; it’s a lifestyle. And it’s hard to forget a car like the Mustang, in any of its many forms. The car means so much more to a way to get around. There are probably people out there who have never owned anything but Mustangs. So to get a chance to watch your very own Mustang come together in front of you must be a truly special experience.
Vince Capka, who hails from Atlanta, Georgia, recently got a chance to watch his 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca Edition get built at the AutoAlliance International plant. It was the second such trip he made to the Flat Rock, Michigan assembly plant, reports Ford Online.
Capka is definitely a car enthusiast, having made the thousand mile journey from Atlanta once before in 2008 to watch his Shelby GT500 come together. Capka loves the Shelby Mustangs of old, but he didn’t want to buy an old car. He was so happy when Ford brought back the Shelby Mustangs that he actually convinced Ford to let him watch it come together. He wore the same color scheme as his soon-to-be-built car Vista Blue GT500. He came color-coordinated for the assembly of his street legal race car too, wearing red and black this time.
This would have been his third such trip to the factory, when he bought a 2006 Ford GT. But his wife was in the hospital with a genetic kidney disease, and desperately needed a transplant. Capka actually donated one of his own kidneys to his wife, though Ford employees kept him up to date with daily pictures of the GT coming together. Capka isn’t just any Mustang enthusiast; he’s a damn good person, and we’re glad to see somebody who has such a good heart also has such a great taste in automobiles.
