If you’re “lucky” enough to live in a state that allows gambling (or live next door to one) then no doubt you’ve partaken of the many vices offered at these fine establishments. And even though there is usually Blackjack, Poker, Craps, Roulette and many other great ways to lose your money, many people stick with “one armed bandits,” better known as slot machines. Sometimes a slot machine jackpot even includes a car. But nobody ever wins those, right?
Wrong, sort of. William Brady of Baltimore was playing the slots at the Hollywood Casino Perryville when he won a 2011 Ford Mustang, reports Cecilwhig.com. But he didn’t win it from the slot machines.
Rather, it turns out Brady had entered into a raffle drawing put on by Ramsey Ford for a Mustang valued at $24,285, which means it is probably just a base V6 with a six-speed manual transmission. Brady was playing the slot machines when they held the raffle drawing at 10 pm that night. And just like that, Brady was a proud owner of a brand new Mustang. We’re not sure if Brady was given the option of cash or the car, though he was presented with a ceremonial oversized check worth exactly $24,285.
The Mustang giveaway was part of a promotion to celebrate the casino’s new, extended hours. The Hollywood Casino now stays open until 4am, instead of 2am, while many casinos in neighboring states stay open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Give us a brand new Mustang and we’ll be there every weekend too.
