OK, so life in the Ukraine may have brought challenges to many since the demise of the Soviet Union. Others have certainly found themselves with far too much time and money on their hands… or so the current evidence confirms.
This five door hatchback was once a Lada grocery-getter, but has been transformed into the expression of someone’s dreams in the former Soviet bloc country. From the front end, you might believe that something unique has been put together. Of course, you are right, but the Lada basics cannot be hidden as you move around to the sides. The utilitarian profile remains regardless of how much attention you lavish on this donor.
From the Cobra emblems on the fenders to the onboard PC, there is little doubt that this car fulfills someone’s dreams. We’re left shaking our heads, though, at the effort needed to put this vision together. Surely all these Mustang parts are not readily available in the former Soviet bloc and have to be imported from Western Europe or directly from the USA.
If the current effort is less than satisfying to our own tastes, satiated from the output of dozens of local tuners and customizers, who knows if this chimera signals the possibility for a new Geiger or McLaren to emerge from Eastern Europe. OK, so hope springs eternal…
