This map breaks down the most-searched for cars by state, so you can see where the Mustang strongholds are.

It’s no surprise that with the popularity of the Mustang as one of America’s favorite collector cars, that it would be the most searched on the web. Whether that is people looking for tech help, parts, or just pictures of Ford’s iconic pony car, they are chasing our favorite pony car more than the Chevy Camaro, Dodge Challenger, or even the Tri-Five Chevy.

Can you imagine anything else being the most searched collector car?

Ford’s legendary Pony Car ranked first in 13 states. —

To be fair, state-by-state, some states do prefer the Impala, Camaro, Corvette, Dodge Charger, or Ford Thunderbird, but overall, Ford Mustang has everyone beat!

“Ford’s legendary Pony Car ranked first in 13 states,” according to “U.S.-built vehicles dominated’s overall findings, with Mustang generating 3,736,942 unique searches in 2016.”

As people continue to customize and love their ’Stangs, it's hard to imagine they won't just keep getting more and more popular!

It’s not hard to see why the Mustang is such a favorite. It was a big deal in ’64 when it first came out and it’s still a big deal today as vintage ‘Stangs continue to pull big dollars at auction and large crowds for shows, and modern Mustangs continue to offer American muscle for the streets of today. As time goes on, there is no doubt the Mustang will remain an iconic part of Americana both in nostalgia and as we look towards the future of our country and its culture.
