A first love is never forgotten. Bruno’s first love, a 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 that was restored with his father stole his heart in 1986. Bruno had convinced his father after seeing the Mach 1, that this would make a good father-son project. During their search they came upon a rare Light Ivy Yellow Mach 1 gazing at them. They knew upon stumbling across this find, this was the one. Giving meaning to love at first sight, Bruno and his father took this new family member home.
Over the next few years they restored the pony to immaculate condition. The whole family got involved, Grandma even took part by helping to recover the seats. From going to shows, cruises, to driving the pony to his senior prom in 1991, moments and memories with this car were captured forever in Bruno’s heart.
Sadly the family ran into financial trouble and had to part ways with the Mach 1. A sad day for all. Bruno vowed to someday bring the pony home again. Fast forward 15 years later, life had improved for Bruno and his family. Bruno had left the car scene behind when the Mach 1 was sold. However, as fate would have it he came upon a twin to his original Mach 1. Not able to resist reliving the dream he acquired the car. Bruno taking in the twin began to restore yet again another Mach 1 to original condition.
Astoundingly a year later one night while surfing eBay Bruno came upon a strangely familiar site. There on the screen was a 1970 Light Ivy Yellow Mach 1 for sale. Not believing his eyes, Bruno grabbed the original Lois Eminger factory invoice that he kept all these years. Comparing the VINs he was astounded. Yes this was his original soul mate lost. After calling his Dad and sharing the news, two days later they were on their way to Detroit, Michigan, to retrieve the pony. Bringing her home to Virginia, sixteen years later. Over the next few years Bruno and his father enjoyed taking the twins to the shows and sharing their story. Bruno after selling the twin to a buyer in Norway is currently returning his first love to original condition along with raising his own family now. He hopes is to share round two with his father and create another Mustang memory.
