So you fancy yourself a race car driver? You’re not alone you know, and there’s an entire industry ready to hone your raw skills into some seriously formidable talent. The official Ford Racing School at Miller Motorsports Park in Toole, Utah, is one of the best places in America to learn how to drive fast and corner like the pros.
The Ford Racing School has been the official racing school of the National Auto Sport Association, or NASA as it’s also known. NASA has just announced that the partnership will continue for the foreseeable future.
“We are happy the Ford Racing School will remain the official driving school of NASA,” said Jeremy Croiset, NASA Director of Sponsorship. “They offer a fantastic school that nearly all NASA members could benefit from attending. We look forward to offering NASA members the exciting benefits the Ford Racing School has to offer in 2014.”
So what are these benefits? Well the Ford Racing School offers a full list of racing courses that range from one day to three days, and are centered mostly on the Ford Mustang and its variants. There’s also the “Raptor Assault” course for those favoring off-road driving, as well as a teen driving school. These courses are offered on an individual or group basis, though perhaps the keenest benefit is the ability to rent a fully-prepped Mustang FR500S for a NASA racing weekend.
The cost? About $2,500 a day, and worth every penny. You’ve got to be a licensed driver, but compared to the cost of building and owning your own Mustang race car? It’s a bargain through and through.
