ARP’s Transmission Bellhousing Bolts Help Make Installs Easier

new_arp_1683On a great deal of cars, when it comes to repairs, the small bolts and screws are just as important as the things they hold together. ARP knows this all too well, and has thus delivered these latest fasteners to all who find themselves frustrated with replacing parts, whether Ford, GM, or MOPAR. One of the items, for example, is the long-sought-after 1/2-13 studs with a rounded “nut starter” nose for manual GM cars, which are now available.

Official Release:

Industry leader ARP has focused its attention on the installation and securing of driveline components, and developed a number of new products in this area. Perhaps the most welcomed—by anyone who has had to grapple with putting a manual transmission in most any GM car through the ‘80s—is a set of 1/2-13 studs with a special rounded “nut starter” nose that serves to guide the transmission into place and align the input shaft with the clutch disc hub. The studs are also hex-broached for ease of installation.

ARP has also introduced case bolts for Muncie 4-speeds (1963-68 and 1969-75), as well as bell housing bolt kits for 1962 and later Mopar big blocks and 1965-on Ford small blocks.

All are available in polished stainless steel or black oxide finished 8740 chrome moly steel; both are nominally rated at 170,000 psi tensile strength and substantially stronger than Grade 8. Additionally, there’s a choice between hex and 12-point heads for the bolts or nuts.

Like the entire ARP line, the fasteners are manufactured totally in-house (from forging to heat-treating, machining and finishing) to stringent AS9100 and ISO-9001 quality control standards.

Features:

  • Lineup of fasteners available for Ford, GM, and MOPAR transmission assemblies
  • Constructed of 8740 chromoly steel rated at 170,000 psi tensile strength
  • Made to AS9100 and ISO-9001 quality control standards
  • Available in polished stainless steel or black oxide finish
