One Hot 1965 Mustang Convertible Resto-Mod

Sometimes projects just don’t pan out as funds become low. Often the cars get sold or go to junk as they rot in people’s backyards, with a jungle of weeds growing up into engine bays. But sometimes the car just falls into place perfectly after years of restoring and makes it worth all of the blood, sweat, and tears. This 1965 Mustang convertible is one five year project that has definitely produced some gratifying results. It’s one classic that is sporting a modern twist.

This 1965 Mustang is a resto-mod that features quite a few goodies, bells, and whistles. The silver paint looks immaculate as well as a brand new matching convertible top. While the outside is silver, the inside is red adding a whole lot of spice to the inside of this ride.

The motor is a new 289 cubic inch motor mated with a 4-speed manual transmission. The front suspension is by Heidts, and more modifications consist of adjustable coil over shocks, plus 4 wheel disc brakes. The wheels are some mean, staggered Foose Wheels with 20×10 in the back and 18×7 in the front all wrapped with Nitto 555 tires.

Dedicated projects like this are definitely worth showing off on any sunny Saturday, especially now that car season is about to hit full swing. Taking this baby out and about is likely to get some attention as it looks like it came straight off of a 1965 Ford showroom floor. The Chip Foose wheels add a modern stylish twist to a long time classic and in a perfectly tasteful way.
