When you consider that Mustang sales have recently reached some of the highest numbers since the release of the S550 generation back in late 2014, you start to realize there’s a ton of them out there on the road today. And, quite frankly, will be on the road for some time.
You also start to realize that a lot of newer Mustangs might even look the same, and that it’s getting harder and harder to tell the difference between the various models available. This is when many enthusiasts start to consider modifying the exterior of their Mustang in an effort to differentiate themselves from the sea of the norm.
You might be familiar with the name UPR Products out of Lake Worth, Florida, for its impeccable suspension components. But what you might not know, is that the same guys who specialize in the business of on-track performance, also dabble in exterior modifications, too. Steve Gelles of UPR walks us through installing one of its new ’15-’17 Mustang Front Emblem packages (PN 3671-03) for enthusiasts who have an open-style grille from suppliers like CDC and Lethal Performance.

One neat aspect of the front emblem package is that UPR uses Ford official licensed emblems, which are painted any of the factory Mustang color options available to choose from (albeit the ’17 color options will soon available). The mounting bracket itself is black anodized for a stealthier appearance, and UPR includes all of the necessary hardware to complete the install.
“Fitment on the kit includes all ’15-’17 Mustang models using any of the aforementioned grilles, and are very easy to install,” Gelles told us. The installation starts with opening the factory hood, followed by removing the push pins located on the radiator cover.
From there, you’ll want to remove the two push pins on the front bumper support bracket by pushing them out, then you can access the holes.
Next, remove the double-sided tape located on the running-horse emblem, aligning it with the pins and pressing it onto the bracket. “If you’re reusing your factory horse, we recommend you use an adhesive to stick the horse to the new bracket,” Gelles said. Lastly, place the radiator cover back on and re-install the push pins you removed earlier.
