Just a few more days until the doors of SEMA 2011 at thrown open for the annual aftermarket parts bonanza in Sin City. Sure, all the major names in the aftermarket and OEM parts world will be there…but the real draw are all the customized cars, shiny parts, and pretty booth babes that will inhabit that Las Vegas convention center next week.
Richard Petty, the famed NASCAR driver who recently jumped ship to Ford, will be debuting his Signature Series Mustangs at next week’s SEMA show…and yes, it will be painted Petty Blue.
…which, if you ask us, looks an awful lot like Ford’s own Grabber Blue (though we know it’s not.) The Richard Petty Signature Series Mustangs is being built by Petty’sGarage, and eventually the package will be for sale to the public, much like the Petty Signature Series Dodge Challenger. Petty is keeping details on the package close to his chest, but there are a few things we can assume, based on previous Petty offerings.
A Ford Racing supercharger is almost a certainty, and we’ll be disappointed with anything less than 600 horsepower. Custom front and rear spoilers give this Mustang a very “NASCAR” look. We’re sure suspension upgrades are on tap too. Judging from pics posted to the Petty Garage Facebook page, blue-accented wheels, a cowl hood, and custom spoiler will also enhance Petty’s Mustang. The Richard Petty Signature Series Mustang will be on display at the BASF booth at next week’s SEMA show, and we can’t wait to get an up close look at a Mustang blessed by The King himself.
