It’s hard to believe that after literally years of waiting, the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang is just weeks away. The big celebration kicks off on April 17th with dual celebrations at both Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Charlotte Motor Speedway. Charlotte also happens to be home to RK Motors, a seller of high-end cars and classics that count many Mustangs among their collection.
RK Motors will be on hand for the festivities of course, and they’ll have three rare and special Mustangs on hand to wow the crowds gathered to celebrate this legendary pony car reports Auto Evolution.
The first, and depending on your attitude, most interesting of these three Mustangs is a 1965 Pro Touring Mustang with a fuel-injected V8 (though what kind isn’t specified). Also on hand will be a 1970 Boss 302 Mustang, a fan favorite in its striking Grabber Blue paint scheme. The rarest treat of all is a 2007 Eleanor Mustang with a Saleen engine under the hood, striking a sinister pose as though its ready to strike. We also know RK motors plans to debut the RK527 which we featured a preview of a few weeks ago.
To top it all off, RK Motors is going to unveil an all-new Pro Touring car that will compete in this year’s Hot Rod Power Tour. Given that RK Motors is unveiling this ride at the Mustang’s 50th anniversary celebration, we feel safe in the assumption that it will be a Mustang. But what kind of Mustang? Something classic and authentic, or perhaps a Fox-body with modern touches? We only have to wait a few more weeks to find out.
