The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is one of the most concentrated areas in the world for both oil, and money. The small Arab state (which is actually made up of seven, small-yet-united absolute monarchies) includes Dubai, which has become the center of the Arab financial world. What we’re getting at here is that there is a lot of money in the UAE, and like Americans, citizens of the UAE are quite fond of fast cars. It is not uncommon to see a flurry of Ferraris, legions of Lamborghinis, and boatloads of Bugatti’s traveling down the wide, flat roads that beg drivers to put the pedal to the metal.
They like their American muscle cars too, and The Mustang News is reporting that Roush hopes to capitalize by offering a special “Shamal 500R” version of the Roush 5XR, just for the UAE.
Last year’s Roush 5XR is the top-of-the-line Mustang from the famed aftermarket car maker, and while it may soon be replaced by the RS3, Roush has found a new market for this car in the UAE. This means it is packing the same 525 horsepower 5.0 liter V8, many suspension upgrades, bigger brakes, 20” chrome rims, and of course attention-grabbing body effects.
Roush has given the Shamal (a local term for a particularly fierce type of sandstorm) 500R its own, toned-down graphics package. To deal with the fierce of the Middle East, an upgraded cooling package is also offered. There is even an American flag stamped onto the console plaque to remind the oil barons where this car came from. Made in America, baby!
