When Ford unveiled the new look for the 2013 Ford Mustang, the changes were subtle-yet-noticeable for the Mustang faithful. Seeing as how the old adage “Race on Sunday, Sell on Monday” still holds true, Ford and its racing teams go to great lengths to ensure the cars on the track look like the cars on the showroom floor.

This last weekend was the opening race of the 2012 Grand Am Series, and as usual Roush Performance was on hand with its pair of Boss 302R Mustangs. In order to match the showroom cars with the track cars, Roush went the extra mile to update their Boss 302R Mustangs…and they sure look good.

Over at Roush Performance’s Facebook page, the aftermarket performance company posted up pictures of Jack Roush Jr.’s No. 61 Boss 302R Mustang updated with the 2013 Mustang’s looks. That includes the GT500-style front fascia and LED rear taillights, though no word on wheather or not these Boss 302R Mustangs also include the pony-light projector.

Probably not. But with Jack Roush Jr. and co-driver Billy Johnson qualifying second for the race and finishing on the podium, all was well.
