Although unconfirmed, we’re getting word that two additional Ford Pro Stock entries may be in attendance at select events during the remaining portion of the NHRA Full Throttle series schedule, beginning as early as the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis over Labor Day Weekend.

19-year old Buddy Perkinson, who made the move from Competition Eliminator to Pro Stock this season behind the wheel of Jim Cunningham’s Ford Mustang entry, is rumored to be leasing engines from Larry Morgan for a debut in Indy, which comes on the heels of Monday’s announcement that sportsman standout Grace Howell would be taking the reigns of the Cunningham Mustang beginning at the Big Go.

Also, Washington native Mark Wolfe, who has competed in Competition Eliminator the last handful of seasons at the wheel of the former Hurley Blakeney-owned, twin turbocharged Thunderbird, has purchased the Mustang campaigned by Frank Gugliotta in Pro Stock last season and plans to compete in the factory hot rod category at Las Vegas and Pomona before a likely return to Comp next season.

If both ventures come to fruition, it’s certainly good news for the Ford faithful and the Pro Stock class as a whole, which has struggled for car counts at many races this season.
