Carroll Shelby’s name automatically brings to mind muscle cars with loads of performance from the 60’s and the S197 platform starting in 2007 with the new GT500 mustangs. What the Shelby name isn’t known for is bicycles, but that is changing. Shelby and Felt bicycles have teamed up for a new bike that wears the Shelby name and comes in the blue and white colors that is the classic Shelby paint scheme in some opinions.
Each of the bikes wears a Shelby tag, and each is serialized too. The bike has all sorts of details like 36-spoke wheels and blue dot tires that are designed to remind you of racing tires. The paint colors are Wimbledon White and Guardsman Blue, the same colors on the GT350 that Shelby is known for. The bike is not cheap at all. If you want one to cruise around the track or car show, you will need to pony up $999.
“Now enthusiasts can take their love of Shelbys to the bike trails, streets and beach boardwalks,” said Tracey Smith, vice president of Carroll Shelby Licensing, in a statement on Wednesday. I have to say, I don’t like the looks of this bike. If it’s going to get the Shelby name, this bike should, have been made for performance, not cruising. It looks like something Pee-Wee Herman would ride to me.
