Carroll Shelby has always been a busy car maker. Never one to rest on his laurels, the man has given us some of the most recognizable and important automotive creations of any generation. From the original Shelby Cobra to the modern GT500, these cars have always demanded a premium price for exceptional performance.

The first batch of Shelby’s latest creation, the 2011 GT350, is ready for delivery reports Mustangs Daily. Are you one of the lucky few on the short list for this exceptional car?

The 2011 GT350 is built to celebrate the 45^th anniversary of the original 1965 GT350, which went out of production in 1970. It has been forty years since a real Shelby GT350 graced the roads, and the 2011 model is a true successor to the small-block monster of the muscle car wars. Available as a naturally aspirated car with a body kit and optional tune bumping power to 430 ponies, the 2011 GT350 has an improved suspension system with Baer brakes and a center-exit exhaust.

For those looking for more, there are two levels of superchargers available on the GT350. This first batch of Shelby GT350’s are equipped with superchargers, either the 525 horsepower model or the 624 horsepower “R” version. The cost of this upgrade adds over $7,000 to the MSRP of $33,995 (which does not include the cost of a 2011 Mustang GT). However, for the extra money your car becomes what Motor Trend claims is the fastest, sweetest sounding, best handling Mustang they ever tested. Since they’ve been around for quite a while, we’ll have to take their word on it, but the 0-60 mph time of 3.7 seconds and 1.05 lateral g’s are pretty impressive statistics, so it is probably true.
