A car is stolen every minute in this country, and car thieves have gotten ever so clever about stealing your ride out from underneath you. While Honda’s and Cadillac’s remain the most popular targets, sports cars like the Ford Mustang make tempting targets for a number of reasons. One, they could be modified with expensive go-fast goodies. And two, who doesn’t want to go for a joy ride in a Mustang.
Unfortunately for the owner of one Mustang, a car thief’s joy ride ended with his ride in the drink, reports the Monash Weekly. And so far, the suspect has not been found.
We don’t know what would be worse: having our Mustang stolen, or getting a phone call from police that it had been located in a lake. Apparently the thief, who stole the 2006 Mustang from a Mt. Waverley home, was only in it for the joy ride, as the muscle car was found the next day at the bottom of a boat ramp after the tide had gone out. Talk about a dick move.
The heavily modified Mustang had had its lock busted in, and a passing boat had gone over the roof, scraping it. Otherwise the Mustang looks to be whole – albeit totaled – all so some jerkoff car thief can go for a joy ride. Hopefully they track him down and throw him in the slammer; what did that car ever do to the thief anyway? It just ain’t right.
