Terry Carlisle previously owned a ’96 Cobra, ’85 GT, and a ’07 Roush Convertible, with those cars in his past he was ready for a top of the line Mustang and got it with the purchase of the 2010 Shelby GT500. As a teenager Carlisle fell in love with a ’69 Fastback Mustang owned by a friend, and he became hooked on the raw power and beauty of the Stang cementing his loyalty to the pony car badge. This GT500 represented more to Calisle than just another pony for the stable. Carlisle was widowed in 2009, left to raise a daughter and son. His wife Leslie had a long 12 year struggle with Lupus. After her passing Carlisle needed something to help take his mind off the loss purchased a new project that he could dive into.
Carlisle found the friends he makes at the car shows is helpful in the healing process. It’s also a weekend hobby he can share with his children while meeting new people.
Since the purchase of the Shelby, Carlisle has installed a one piece aluminum drive shaft a MGD short throw shifter, Airlift suspension, six-piston Willwood brakes with 14-nch drilled and slotted rotors, a hydro-dipped body kit, Steeda blower pulley, SVT tune, Lethal Performance X-pipe , BMR upper and lower control arms. The mods are good for around 600 hp at the rear tires..
You can find Carlisle on most weekends at the local shows and cruise-ins in Indianapolis and the surrounding area. Carlisle’s pony is not only an eye catcher in the offline scene but also in the online world.
