TREMEC To Back NMCA And NMCA WEST True Street Class Through 2014

In the storied histories of both the NMRA and NMCA, there are few elements of the racing events with more tradition than True Street. Regarded as the class that most embodies the ultimate in street performance, True Street brings together some of the finest street and strip machines in the nation prepared by hard-working racers who, unlike their heads-up racing counterparts, must go the extra mile to prove the road worthiness of their vehicles in the true test of machine.

When Promedia events announced the convergence of the NMRA and NMCA into a stand-alone, West coast series known as NMCA West earlier this winter, it was only natural that this mainstay category remain a integral part of the new series.

TREMEC Transmissions has stepped up to the plate with an agreement to sponsor not only the NMCA True Street series, but also the new NMCA West True Street category through the 2014 season. For those unfamiliar and interested in competing, True Street is designed for street cars that are licensed, insured, and capable of completing a 30-mile cruise through areas local to each particular track with a Police escort. Upon returning the track, each competitor makes three back-to-back passes and awards are given out for the overall quickest racer and runner-up and those closest to the 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 seconds elapsed times.
