A car like the Ford Mustang tends to stick out in a crowded parking lot. A Shelby GT500 is easier to spot, even from afar, and a Shelby Super Snake? That is a car that is impossible to ignore. So why anyone would feel the need to further customize an already-custom Mustang, adding a fourth-level of modifications to an 850 horsepower supercar?
Ultimate Auto undertook this project at the car owner’s request, adding an all-steel widebody kit, carbon fiber inlaid stripes, and a host of other modifications that ensures this Super Snake will stand out even amongst the most elite supercars out there. This is the kind of car that results in strong opinions, one way or another.
The Shelby Super Snake is a GT500 taken to the next level. This particular Super Snake is the 850 horsepower model, and Ultimate Auto spared no expense. With a paint job that reminds us of gold plating mixed with orange peels and inlaid carbon fiber racing stripes, this is a case of “because I can afford to.” The approach is to say the least different, and decadently so.
Not that the regular Super Snake isn’t already an egregious piece of American muscle. It’s just that the widebody kit, Vellano carbon fiber wheels, a kickin’ JL Audio system, and Foose Glasurit paint job might be a little much for some people. For others though, there is no such thing as over the top, and for them, this Shelby Super Snake is par for course. So, where do you stand?
