The speculation on what the 2013 Boss 302 would look like and the features it will offer have run rampant since we learned about the 2012 Boss 302. The reason being back in 1969 the first Boss 302 looked like the 2012, and when 1970 rolled in the Boss 302 got some interesting updates, like new stripes and notably a shaker hood. This had fans thinking that come 2013 the Boss 302 would also get a few tweaks as a throwback to the 1970 models. A forum thread on The Mustang Source has a post that is supposed to be copied directly from Fords dealer network.
The listing shows that most of the details of the 2013 Boss 302, assuming they are true, being just like the 2012 models, with a few notable and intriguing acceptations. The rumored specs show that the ’13 Boss will get the same 3.73:1 gear ratio, 6-speed manual transmission, and adjustable shocks. Brembo brakes carry over along with the driver selectable power steering and the Hi-Po 302 4V Ti-VCT V8. There is no mention of power rating for the engine. The exterior features also list fog lights in the grill.
On the outside of the ’13 Boss the listing shows that it will get HID headlamps standard and a modified front fascia with new splitter. That last bit could be the same front fascia and splitter as the 12 models and modified may be compared to the ’13 GT. The listing specifically calls out that the ’13 Boss will have 1970 Boss 302 livery. Another notable change is that a new instrument cluster is listed along with a 4.2-inch LCD message screen. One major addition that people are complaining about Ford not offering on the 2012 Boss 302 is Sync. The 2013 Boss 302 specs in the post show that Sync is included.
Also noted on the forum thread are the colors for 2013 street Boss 302. The color names are noted to be subject to change. The rumored colors include Gotta Have it Green, School Bus Yellow, Grabber Blue, White, and Red. The School bus Yellow is assumed to be Grabber Orange and the Gotta Have It Green is thought to be Grabber Green.
