Why do we race? Is it for the feeling of adrenaline pumping through our veins? Perhaps it is that desire to go faster than humanly possible. For many of us though, it is the simple thrill of competition, knowing that we have built a better, faster car, and that we are the better driver (obviously). That is why we race.
And that is why 5.0 Mustang and Super Fords puts on their annual King of the Street competition. With nine cars clamoring for the title, who wound up on top?
We won’t know all the details until the May issue of 5.0 Mustang and Super Fords hits the stands. But we do have this nice long video from the drag racing part of the competition, where nine competitors with all sorts of forced induction lined up for their best run down the 1320. Most of the cars in attendance were easily 10-second cars, and there was even a 9-second pass during this years event.
Among the many competitors was Blow By Racing, who as we already covered put an astonishing 953 horsepower down to the wheels during the competition. Unfortunately, they broke their driveshaft during their second run on drag racing part of the competition (seen at about 4:45 in the video.) So they probably won’t be crowd the 2011 KOTS. But there were lots of other competitors in fast as hell Mustangs, so take a few minutes to check out this video and make sure to grab the May issue of 5.0 Mustang and Super Fords.
