Think about how preposterous a 500-rear-wheel horsepower car might have been just merely a decade ago. Heck, back in 2007, the newly released Shelby GT500 was “only” making 500 horsepower at the crank with a 5.4-liter DOHC V8 and a supercharger. Technology, both at an OEM and an aftermarket level, has really grown leaps and bounds since that timeframe, as evidenced by the videos seen here.
Our friends at Brenspeed offer owners of the ’11-plus Mustang GT a handful of forced-induction solutions for those who are looking to make more power; and today’s example comes in the form of a positive-displacement supercharger from Edelbrock. Dubbed the E-Force, this TVS blower is capable of more than 534 horsepower out of the box, includes a warranty and is 50-state legal.
While some of us would find ourselves in paradise with those horsepower figures and the additional benefits, there are those who seek more, and that’s exactly the kind of audience Brenspeed caters to. In the second video (above), Brent and his team dial in the Coyote-powered S550 Mustang even further – thanks to the addition of a JMS fuel pump booster, a set of 95 lb/hr fuel injectors, an Edelbrock cold-air intake, an Edelbrock, throttle body and a smaller pulley.
With some additional tuning of the calibration courtesy of Brenspeed, the results are an impressive 671 horsepower and 544 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels. With Edelbrock and Brenspeed on board for those power figures, we foresee the competition having a hard time keeping up on the street with you now.
