During the Superbowl, GM and Chrysler both debuted some commercials that, we must admit we’re pretty cool. Both companies, which declared bankruptcy and sought government loans to stay float, used the Superbowl to spring into the 2011 auto selling season by declaring “We’re back with new, better products!” And that’s great.
But Ford never left. The Blue Oval has been rather low-key in its advertisements, avoiding big productions like the Eminem/Chrysler affair or transforming robots. So Motofinity put together a brief-yet-brilliant commercial that Ford should seriously considering airing.

Set to the tune of L.L. Cool J’s “Mama Said Knock You Out,” the 30-second fan made commercial showcases a brief history of the Ford Motor Company. From the Model T to the 2012 BOSS 302 Mustang, Ford has been around for 108 years without going bankrupt. Ford isn’t flashy in its commercials, focusing on improving their vehicles more than marketing them with fancy gimmicks. Still, we can’t help but wish Ford would do just a little bit more bragging in their advertisements, especially with the Mustang.
Thankfully, Motofinity did it for them, while lambasting GM for falling into old habits and Chrysler for taking a government bailout for the second time since 1979 and selling out to the Italians. While the Blue Oval did take government loans (that were open to all automakers, including foreign companies) Ford has managed to emerge from this awful recession with one of the strongest lineups in decades.
Consumers and reviewers are voting with their wallets, and Ford is looking better and better every day. Just don’t call it a comeback.
