This weekend saw the third round of the 2012 NASCAR season in Las Vegas. Prior to the race though, Ford’s two top-notch drivers, Trevor Bayne and Ricky Stenhouse Jr., had a chance to do a walk around of their favorite Ford product, the Mustang. For two guys who drive race cars that can blow a stock Mustang out of the water, these guys have a lot of nice things to say for the factory-stock Mustang.
Mustangs Daily brought us this video of Bayne and Stenhouse going over their Mustangs and picking out their favorite features. If you’ve ever wondered what NASCAR drivers look for in a car, here’s your chance to find out.
Ford put out the entire Mustang lineup for their NASCAR drivers, including the 650 horsepower Shelby. GT500 and the Boss 302 Mustang. For Trevor Bayne, the front splitters on the Boss 302 seemed like a feature he loved. For Rickey Stenhouse Jr. though, the GT500’s 200 mph top speed, and the 5.0 GT’s backup camera, were all appropriately cool to them.
Even the V6 Mustang won their approval, as Ford has sought to keep the exterior differences between V6 and V8 Mustangs to a minimum. Stenhouse even goes on to say that he’d buy a V6 Mustang. Eventually, the drivers get around to taking the Mustangs around the Las Vegas Speedway, and Bayne continues to sing the praises of the Boss. So if Stenhouse likes the Shelby, and Bayne likes the Boss…who do you like?
