Cars like the S550 generation of Mustang are leaving the factory more advanced than ever. We’ve highlighted in the past that many vehicles today, like GT and EcoBoost Mustang variants, are available from the factory with larger brakes than ever. Case in point, a set of Brembo 6-piston calipers and massive 15-inch rotors when equipped with the optional performance package.

As impressive as the factory brakes are, that’s not to say there isn’t any room for improvement – as our friends at Baer Brakes have clearly identified. In this video, our friend Rick Elam gives us a quick rundown on the company’s rotor package for the 2015-plus Mustang.

“The EradiSpeed Plus Rotors are a simple installation, direct bolt-on, no bleeding of the brake system, and they’re designed for late model performance vehicles,” Rick entailed. “Years ago in the late ’90s, Baer introduced a product range called the Enhanced, which now turned into the EradiSpeed line.” Rick details the EradiSpeed Rotor upgrade package for the front, saying that the rotors are cast specifically for the S550 Mustang GT equipped with the optional performance package’s Brembo brakes. He also says that the rotors will save about 5 pounds per rotor, roughly 20 pounds in all.

Moreover, Rick says that these brakes are a two-piece directional system which utilize a directionally vaned structure “which acts like a centrifugal pump,” advancing cooling efforts in the braking system.
