Racing via video games remains a popular time waster among today’s youth. Today’s games represent real cars far more accurately than the games of yore, with high powered graphics and physics engines providing the most realistic gaming experience possible outside of actually racing a car.
To help sell this new realism when it comes to racing, DiRT 3 turned to the likes of Ken Block, Gymkhana King, to promote the new game via a brief video.
Block pulls out all the stops for this promotion, for which he ditches the Ford Fiesta for the Focus World Rally Car at Britains Battersea Power Station just outside of London. As usual, high production values and levels of hoonage result in yet another awesome video staring a Ford vehicle and Ken Block. Of course, one needs plenty of obstacles with which to power slide around, and DiRT 3 provided plenty of boxes, dumpsters, and even a tractor trailer emblazoned with their new video game’s logo.
DiRT 3 lets you jump into the driver’s seat with the likes of Block and other rally racers such as Tanner Foust (who also makes an appearance in the game.) Blocks gets even dicier this time around, throwing a moving excavator into the mix. At the end of the day, its yet another 3-minute video from the master of hoonage, some shameless promotion for a new video game starring the aforementioned monster, and yet another way to waste our days in front of the television. DiRT 3 hits store shelves on Tuesday.
