DC Shoe mogul-turned professional race car driver Ken Block has got to have one of the best jobs on Earth, right up there with the hosts of Top Gear and Ferrari test drivers. In addition to getting to flog his fast little Fiesta, Block has built an enviable reputation based on his Gymkhana driving videos, as well as his performance on the race track.

And there are plenty of other perks too, like getting to line up his 600 horsepower Fiesta against a V8 Supercar from the Australian racing series of the same name. Neither car was built for drag racing…but who cares? This video is awesome.

We have covered in detail what Ken Block’s new racing Ford Fiesta has going for it. Called the Hybrid Function Hoon Vehicle, or H.F.H.V., this Fiesta has more grunt, and adjustable suspension, and is an all around racing vehicle. But it ain’t no drag car. Even so, it still has 600 horsepower, all-wheel drive, and a great driver.

Compared that to the V8 supercar Block lines up against, and you’ll understand why this race went the way that it did. The V8 supercar was driven by Jamie Whincup, a former Ford driver who recently jumped ship with his team to Holden. The Holden V8 supercar is powered by a 5.0 liter V8 producing between 600 and 700 horsepower. But Jamie has only rear-wheel drive, compared to Block’s all-wheel drive… and the V8 supercar is even less of a drag racer than the H.F.H.V. So yeah, Ken Block wins again. Maybe it’s time he considered a career in drag racing too?
