There are many historic race tracks all across America, and it would be impossible to argue which track is the overall greatest. One could certainly try to make the case for Laguna Seca, with its difficult turns and rich racing history, which draws large crowds of classic racers every year. Modern racers know this track as well, and many top tier racing series include Laguna Seca in their schedules.
It’s always fun to watch fast cars take on Laguna, even more so when they happen to be BOSS 302R Mustangs. This video from inside Multimatic Motorsport’s BOSS 302R gives us a first person view of what it’s like to tackle this course.
The BOSS 302R Mustang has had some growing pains, and it wasn’t until earlier this year when Multimatic Motorsports took home the first checkered flag for a BOSS 302R in the GContinental Tire Sports Car Championship running in GS Class. Drivers Joe Foster and Scott Maxwell wound up finishing in sixth place overall for the season, though this particular video comes from the qualifying session of the Laguna Seca race a few weeks ago.
Foster was behind the wheel as he battled for position, eventually finishing the qualifying round in fourth place. Unfortunately, Multimatic would fall all the way to 24th in their class in the actual race. But that doesn’t change how much fun it is to watch Foster fight his way through the crowd, with nothing but the roar of the 5.0L to listen to. Also check out the little throttle/brake gauge in the right hand corner. It’s a fun video to watch if you’ve got 12 minutes to kill and would like nothing more than to listen to a bunch of race cars.
