Life threatening conditions effect us all in different ways. For Scott Peterson, who was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma more than ten years ago, fighting this condition was a literal matter of life or death. Scott underwent eight rounds of Chemotherapy until finally entering remission in May of 2007. Fast forward to the present, and Scott is celebrating nearly ten years of remission from his Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma.

Thrilled to receive this extraordinary nomination, Scott wants to give back to the LLS and the community by raising more than $250,000 to benefit the organization. Scott’s organization, which is Team Remission10, as well as the Wheelhouse Foundation and ROUSH Performance, have teamed up in an effort to benefit the LLS by auctioning off a brand-new 2016 ROUSH Stage 3 Mustang.
The purpose first and foremost of the campaign is to benefit those who suffer from these conditions by raising enough money for the community, with one luck winner able to drive home in a brand-new ROUSH supercharged Mustang. “It’s an amazing ten week campaign,” Scott said. “There’s about eighteen people in the Charlotte, North Carolina, area that are competing to become the Man of the Year. The great thing is, we’re all trying to raise money – and whoever raises the most money, wins. I’m pretty competitive, so I’m excited to win this thing.”
As we mentioned earlier, Scott says the goal is to raise a quarter of a million dollars, which he believes they’ll be able to achieve in the next few weeks with everyone’s help. Tickets are available at $100 each, and there are 5,010 available in all. “This is my tenth year in remission,” Scott said. “It’s a pretty intense fight – going through cancer is a horrible experience for pretty much everybody. I want to do all that I can to give back, and help save as many lives as we can. We’re really excited to do that.”
