Win Virtual Street Races In A Ford GT With CSR2

For any blue-blooded Ford fan, the 2017 Ford GT is the ultimate dream car. Only 250 people per model year will get to own one. Clearly those lucky people must have the bankroll to afford one of these supercars. For the rest of us, there is a chance to have one in our pockets and drag race it in the new CSR Racing 2 racing game.

You can drag race a virtual 2017 Ford GT in the mobile video game CSR Racing 2.

In CSR2, we’ve built on this legacy by amplifying the drag racing experience and introducing new social elements, higher-fidelity graphics and enhanced levels of customization

“CSR Racing has a passionate fan base that lives and breathes the world of cars. With more than 190 million downloads by auto enthusiasts around the world, the original CSR Racing and CSR Classics brought never-before-seen levels of visual fidelity and vehicle authenticity to the Racing genre on mobile,” Torsten Reil, CEO of NaturalMotion, said. “In CSR2, we’ve built on this legacy by amplifying the drag racing experience and introducing new social elements, higher-fidelity graphics and enhanced levels of customization to create the most immersive and realistic mobile racing experience for our players.”

Available for both Android and iOS platforms, CSR2 allows players to drag race head-to-head in real time. Racers can challenge opponents to improve their reputations and earn in-game currency. You can even form grounds and chat racing strategies.

Both the Ford GT and Mustang are two of the 50 plus available vehicles in the game, and to help promote the game, the CSR2 team paid a visit to Ford Performance headquarters to visit with Director Dave Pericak and Chief Engineer Jamal Hameedi. Jamal gave and overview of the real Ford GT and Dave sampled the gameplay.

“The most advanced part of this car is truly the aerodynamics. When you look at the car from the top, or the plan view, there is a tapering like the fuselage of an airplane. Every intake has an exit on this car,” Jamal explained. “…You have air, literally, moving all around the vehicle at the same time to create downforce and minimize drag.”

Naturally, you don’t have to leave the Ford GT or any of the other cars stock in the game.

Of course I won,” Dave said. “It’s a Ford GT.

“Car upgrades are only the start,” says Natural Motion. “You can now get under the hood to tune gear ratios, tire pressure, nitrous timings and much more. And when the competition gets ruthless, make sure you strip surplus cars for parts, and fuse them into your favorite vehicles.”

You can’t beat driving a real Ford GT, but Dave was impressed by the realism of the gameplay. He was, however, not surprised that his halo car is a formidable drag racing machine.

“Of course I won,” Dave said. “It’s a Ford GT.”

To promote CSR Racing 2, the game makers paid a visit to Ford Performance HQ, where Chief Engineer Jamal Hameedi gave a tour of the real Ford GT’s aerodynamic features.
