With a 50-plus year history, the annual Fourth of July weekend car show presented by the Mountaineer Antique Auto Club has become a Western North Carolina tradition. Originally hosted on a huge farm in Maggie Valley, North Carolina, the show made the move about 10 years ago to the WNC Ag Center in Fletcher, North Carolina, which also plays host to the annual North Carolina Mountain State Fair.
The show draws out a large variety of automotive related goodies for participants and spectators to look at from a large swap meet, to show cars, to a large car corral inside the air-conditioned Expo building. The variety brings out everything from early antique Fords, such as the classic Model As to modern Mustangs and everything in between.
