On a recent trip down to my old college town of San Luis Obispo, CA (known on the central coast as SLO) I spotted this very cool 1965 Mercury Comet wagon. Parked right in front of the famed gum alley, the Comet was a moving billboard for Comet Realty, a Central Coast real estate firm. I hung around a bit hoping the owner would show up, but unfortunately he or she didn’t. In any case, I doubt they’d mind me snapping a few pics and sharing them with the FordMuscle audience. I’m not up to speed on my Comet history, but perhaps one of you could tell me the significance of the “404” emblem on the right rear quarter panel. See more pics after the jump.
