Check out these two Ford powerhouses going at it one-on-one! Both of these cars are iconic Fox Mustangs, and they are both Ford powered. However, they make use of entirely different engines.
The black four-eye Fox is propelled by a 4.6-liter Terminator engine with a Whipple supercharger and six-speed manual transmission, while the red, aero-nose Fox is motivated by a 5.0-liter Coyote engine with a TH400 transmission and 100-shot of nitrous.
Both cars are impressively built, but in a head-to-head matchup like this, there has to be a winner and a loser. All that is left to do is watch and see how things play out. Either way, it’s just fun to see these two titans go at it!
After a show of equally impressive burnouts from each car, the Terminator-swapped black Mustang easily takes the red Coyote-powered Fox. The video is definitely informative for anyone looking to do a performance swap in a Fox Mustang.
While there are a lot of factors to consider — from weight to traction — this video shows that the Terminator swaps are still a viable performance option, especially if they are topped with a Whipple supercharger! Of course, a nitrous-injected Coyote packs quite a punch too and might cost a bit less.
It’s all the preference of the builder, but this video shows that old-school modulars can still hold their own against modern Coyotes.
