For Blue Oval performance car enthusiasts, there is no higher art than the Ford GT supercar. It inspires passion in its fans and envy in its rivals. However, the car can also be an inspiration to artists, as evidenced by a temporal video artwork project put together by four London-based graffiti artists and a ballerina.
The artists — Josh X Colwell (JXC), David “Gnasher” Nash, Tom Graff (WeAreSkyHigh), and Steve Hart (EKTO) — converted a pristine white studio into graffiti art featuring a image of ballerina Sophie Adams, who then dances and drives away in a white Ford GT.
The Ford GT is a beast and watching the flames from the exhaust, when all the lights went out, was the highlight of a cool project. — David Nash, Artist“Dancing around the GT was amazing, although I did accidentally spin too fast and end up on top of the bonnet with my tutu round my ears,” she said. “Getting in and out of a Ford GT in a tutu and pointe shoes was definitely not something they taught me at ballet school!”
Fortunately the Ford Performance supercar wasn’t damaged in the ballet incident, nor was the car painted with graffiti as part of the art project. As cool as the art is, however, we’d have to agree that the GT is still the star of this show.
