GREG BIFFLE, No. 16 3M Ford Fusion (Finished 1st) (Victory Lane Interview) – WHEN YOU LOOKED UP AND SAW THE 48 WITH PROBLEMS, WHAT DID YOU THINK? “Well, I thought that I knew I would be able to get him then. I was closing in on him and I don’t know if I would have got him in those eight laps or not but it would have been a hell of a run to the end. I found some speed in the top line down there in three and four and was coming on him. I don’t know if I would have got there but we will take them any way we can get them. We had a damn good car today.”
YOU MADE A HECK OF A PASS ON KESELOWSKI TO TAKE SECOND. “Yeah, this car is so fast. Once I got out front in clean air I could pass one car at a time pretty easy. The car was really, really bad in dirty air and I had a tough time with that.”
HOW ABOUT THAT LAST RESTART? “Junior gave me a huge push for that win. I have to thank him for that. I saw Brad laying back like always and he got a little jump on me. It probably would have been leveled out by turn one.”
WERE YOU PLAYING POKER TELLING US BEFORE THE RACE IT WAS OKAY? “Yeah, I knew my car was bad ass. I didn’t want to say anything until I got here to victory lane.”
MARCOS AMBROSE, No. 9 Stanley Ford Fusion (Finished 5th) – “It is a great day for the Stanley Ford team and everybody at Richard Petty Motorsports. Todd Parrott made some great calls today. We had a plan with tire strategy going into the race and it worked our way. A few more laps and we would have had something for them. We had a great car, we just couldn’t quite get enough track position at the end. We had as good a car as anyone out there today.” YOU WERE TALKING TO REGAN SMITH, WHAT DID YOU SAY? “I feel terrible for him. I didn’t mean to get into him. I got down in there and he came off my side of the car and I was trying to get out of there for him and just caught him on the way past. I feel bad for him. You can’t take it back, all you can say is sorry.”
CARL EDWARDS, No. 99 Geek Squad Ford Fusion (Finished 6th) – “We just had a lot of fortune there to get the opportunity on the last restart to make it happen. I am glad a Ford is in victory lane. It is big for Greg to win here and Jack and everyone. It is big for Ford, they deserve this. We showed everyone we could do it. We were as fast or faster than Greg was the whole second half of the race. It is just a matter of getting it done now.”
MATT KENSETH, No. 17 Fifth Third Bank Ford Fusion (Finished 17th) - “We just didn’t really pit for fuel at the right time, but Greg was on the same strategy and won the race. We kept getting stuck in the wrong lane on restarts and had some subpar pit stops and had a flat tire and just couldn’t recover from that.”
TREVOR BAYNE, No. 21 Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Fusion (Finished 24th) – “We had a decent day. I thought we had a top-10 car going but it is hard to pass once you fall back a little bit. I thought when we were running top-10 we could stay there and when we were running 15th it was hard to get back there. If it cycled out at the end we would have been top-10. It doesn’t really matter because we blew a left front. We had two runs of taking just rights and that bit us there. I slid them getting in the box and flat spotted the tire. It had a little vibration before it blew. I was hoping it let go on the straightaway and it did let go finally. When it did it blew up and took us right into the wall.”
