Ford beats Toyota in Quality

Ford beats all in qualityRead it and weep all you import and GM lovers who secretly lurk in envy on FordMuscle! For once and for all it is settled, Fords rank highest in quality. Ford Motor Company received 14 total vehicle honors, more than any other automaker. In addition to the five first-place winners, the following vehicles also were recognized.

Ford Motor Company garners five top model segment awards—more than any other automobile corporation this year, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2007 Initial Quality Study (IQS) released today.

In the study, Ford Motor Company earns model segment awards for the Ford Mustang, Lincoln Mark LT, Lincoln MKZ, Mazda MX-5 Miata and Mercury Milan.

The Mustang ranked higher than the Toyota Solara and the Chevy Monte Carlo in the Mid-Size Sport Car segment.
The Milan beat the Honda Accord in the MidSize Car segment.
The Lincoln MKZ beat the Acura TSX in the Premium car segment.

  1. Mark,
thanks for sending the information. we’ve been a Ford family since our marriage in 67. but now with gas up so high, my OWN focus seems much better on milege, but lately after keeping a low milege, since i don’t drive as much as i used to when my kids were home. i’ve just had my 30,000 mile check and everything was fine, but i get complaints from my riders about alot of noise the car is making, the mirror isn’t right, i want more cushion in the seats and to be honest, i want a car that does over 40 miles/gal. and i want one bad. i also want one of those navigation systems; but i have to stay at my present car payment of 330/month, can’t go higher, i’m disabled on ss. now,, and IF i bought, i would do what i did with the car i’m driving now and wait till there was 0% apr to buy with.
i’ve checked consumer reports which i go thru before buying ANY car, electronic, appliance etc. and the only cars with over 40mi./gal is toyota. i’ve looked at ford and don’t see ANY car that’s over 40mi/gal

  2. In the past 7 years I have owned an Explorer and 2 Expeditions. I have had no complaints with any Ford I have owned. Over the past 30 years I have also owned 3 Volvos, a Toyota truck and a Toyota SR5 and didn’t have any trouble with those either. I attribute my “luck” with these vehicles more with getting the scheduled maintenance done on time at an appropriate dealer. One volvo I had over 160,000 miles and only had “routine” maintenance done on it…Bottom line is most vehicles are quality made, but owners don’t get the proper maintenance done when they are supposed to…

  3. Nothing beats a Ford! My motto is the one “Built Ford Tough!” That is our family! My Father started working at the Plant in Norfolk when it first opened and we have been a Ford Family from day one. This comment that Ford beats Toyota in quality is of no surprise to me. American built is the way to go! Ford has kept our family alive for all of these years. They feed us, bought our home for us, and provided medical care, and all that came into our household. Since the passing of my Father Ford has carried my Mother to this very day at 82 years of age. She can’t even talk about Ford without tears. She is so grateful and remains forever fateful to them as do her children and grandchildren. Thanks to my Father and Ford Motor Company “LIFE HAS BEEN GOOD”! To Henry Ford if he were alive, we love you.

  4. Ford once again proves its the best. SWEET! I think the F-series should have got an award, not just the Mark LT

  5. I own two Fords and want to see them succeed, but their styling sucks. Some models are starting to improve, but they should fire the guy in charge of styling. I am glad the quality is now ranked # 1, just steal a good stylist from GM or Dodge. It is so competitive nowdays you need quality and looks.

  6. Good news. Now Ford needs word of mouth from happy owners. That is what seems to sell the Toyotas.

  7. We knew this all along. I guess some folks don’t learn as fast as others.

    Good work FORD

  8. Cool…Ford definately needed that shot in the arm!
Hope it inspires them to get a booster shot for their R&D for future models.

  9. I am a GM person myself, but I like Fords as well, and don’t want to see them go under. Whta bothers me about this guys comments, is he should focus his bashing on Toyota, and leave GM out of it. As far as I am concerned, the domestics need to stick together. I was very happy to see that Ford did so well in the quality ratings. I think its awesome actually.

  10. Let’s hope Ford’s sales figures start reflecting these results over the next year. I’d hate to see them bought out after good news like this.
    -J
